Bharathiya Pravasi Parishad (BPP),Kuwait distributed prizes for the winners of the coloring and painting competition which was conducted online on Nov 14th 2024.More than 450 students participated in the online competition. The competition was held as a part of the Christmas celebration.
The art works was evaluated by a group of 7 well experienced Judges namely Mrs. Shalini Avinash ,Mrs. Anwesha Biswas, Mrs. Kavitha Srivasthav , Mrs. Navina Takkur , Mrs.Sangeetha Desasi , Mrs. Seema Waghmare and Mrs.Pranjali Dharmik
The prize distribution function was held on February 21,2025 at Calicut Live Restaurant Party Hall. Mr. Anoop Sharma ,Principal of The New Gulf Indian School was the chief guest. Mr. Sudhir Menon ,President BPP presided over the function . 56 students were selected as winners.
During the inaugural speech Mr. Anoop Sharma requested all the parents to encourage their children to follow their passion and not to stop them when they do any creative activities. He told that creative thinking in children is essential for their overall development and success in the modern world, and creative thinking encourages children to explore new ideas, and approach challenges with innovative solutions .He stressed the need for fostering the creative thinking of their children which is also crucial for their intellectual, emotional, and social growth as it helps them in becoming independent thinkers, better problem-solvers, and confident individuals, all of which are necessary for success in both academic and real-life situations. Mr. Sharma added that Parents, teachers, and caregivers should create environments that encourage creativity and allow children to explore their ideas freely. Finally he stated that creative thinking in children helps them to become well-rounded, confident individuals ,capable of tackling challenges, thinking critically, and thriving in various aspects of their lives.

During the presidential address Mr.Sudhir Menon briefed about the competition process and challenges faced from its conception stage to the finale.
He also explained the reason, BPP is presenting books to the winners. He told the gathering, that reading books contribute to personal growth and development, provide valuable information on various subjects, from science to history to self-improvement and they allow us to gain insights into different cultures, ideas and perspectives, broadening our understanding of the world. Apart from enhancing knowledge, reading stimulates the brain, keeping it sharp and improving cognitive functions such as memory and focus. Regular reading helps improve concentration and mental agility, which benefits both professional and personal life and reading regularly strengthens vocabulary, allowing for better communication skills and books also serve as a great escape from daily stresses. Mr. Sudhir iterated that , Immersing oneself in a captivating story can provide a much-needed break and reduce stress, offering a healthy way to relax and Fiction, in particular, fosters empathy by allowing readers to step into the shoes of characters from diverse backgrounds, helping to develop emotional intelligence. He concluded by telling that reading enhances writing skills by exposing readers to various writing styles and structures as it encourages creativity, improves analytical sense, and strengthens critical thinking abilities; Whether it’s a novel or a non-fiction piece, reading offers entertainment, self-improvement, and a wealth of knowledge that enriches both the mind and the soul.
Later prizes was distributed to the judges by Mr. Sudhir Menon and to the winners by Mr. Anoop Sharma.
Mrs. Reshmi Naveen Gopal Sthree Shakthi Convener, gave vote of thanks. She thanked all the parents ,participants and judges, for their active role in the competition and evaluation and also to the BPP members for the successful completion of the competition process.
Mr.Binoy Sebastian , Advisor BPP ,engaged the audience with a quiz which was informative and entertaining.
Mrs.Nisha Dilip anchored the function aptly.
All the winning art works was displayed inside the hall
